1st GR Field Trip to the Discovery Center in West Yellowstone, Monday, October 14, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
As a hands-on learning experience, our class will be taking a trip to the Wolf and Grizzly Discovery Center in West Yellowstone. We will enjoy a Ranger presentation about animals and habitats. Students will participate in the Keeper Kids experiment to understand the importance of bear safety and species protection. Following the Discovery Center, our bus will be stopping at the Madison Arms Trail Head just outside of West Yellowstone for a fire safety presentation by our National Parks Service. This trip will be fun and very valuable to our unit of study. For the trip, I have arranged for our PTO to fund the admission fees however, $5 is necessary for transportation which you can pay online (3.49% service fee), or write a check to BSSD#72 (field trip in memo) or cash to school.
Students will need to bring a disposable sack lunch clearly marked with their name and a water bottle. You can order a sack lunch to be charged to your child's account no less than 48 hours in advance. Email your child's teacher with a sandwich choice of ham, turkey or PBJ. It will be waiting for them the morning of the trip.
